Schools are not mere structures; they are the beacons of hope for the community and the incubators of the future pillars of our country. At Hume Cement, we firmly believe that the community plays a pivotal role in constructing the framework of our nation's bright future.
In pursuit of this belief, on September 9th, volunteers from the Gopeng Plant took action by actively engaging with SK Kota Bharu, the nearest school in close proximity to our plant. We organised a gotong royong activity there, with the aim of providing a clean, conducive, and attractive environment for the schoolchildren to enhance their educational journey.
We decided to further extend our commitment by sponsoring various school activities, including classroom beautification initiatives such as painting, the installation of new curtains for classrooms, laying vinyl tiles in the library, and conducting general cleaning in the area. We also initiated a tree planting program as part of this event. All of these activities align with our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, encouraging our volunteers to actively participate.
At Hume Cement, we don't merely supply cement for building construction. Deep within our hearts, much like our cement products, we aspire to strengthen the bonds that bind us to the neighboring community, enabling us to contribute to a much more robust foundation for the growth of the local community. We firmly believe that if not us, then who? And if not now, then when?
