Hume Cement Industries Berhad (“HCIB”) Registration No. 198001008443 (62227-X) was incorporated on 9 September 1980 in Malaysia as a private limited company under the name of Cement-Board (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. On 9 September 1981, the name was changed to Cemboard (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. and subsequently changed to Hume Cemboard (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. on 6 March 1991. It was then changed to Hume Cemboard Sdn. Bhd. on 15 December 1993 and on 12 August 1996, it was converted to a public limited company and changed its name to Hume Cemboard Berhad ("HCB"). HCB was listed on the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now known as Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad) on 16 March 1998.

On 23 May 2002, HCB entered into an Asset Purchase Agreement to dispose of its fibre cement business to Ambang Subur Sdn. Bhd. (now known as Hume Cemboard Industries Sdn. Bhd.) and HCB became an investment holding company.

On 21 March 2003, HCB entered into Share Purchase Agreements to acquire Hume Furniture Industries Sdn. Bhd. (now known as Hume RMC Sdn. Bhd.) from (i) Hume Industries (Malaysia) Berhad (now known as Hume Concrete Sdn. Bhd.); and (ii) Law Hun Seang. Thereafter, HCB changed its name to Narra Industries Berhad on 15 October 2003.

On 20 October 2014, Narra Industries Berhad completed the acquisition of Hume Cement Sdn. Bhd. and Hume Concrete Sdn. Bhd. from Hong Leong Industries Berhad and Hong Leong Manufacturing Group Sdn. Bhd, and thereafter assumed its present name of Hume Industries Berhad. The name was then changed to Hume Cement Industries Berhad on 24 November 2020. 

Principal Activities

HCIB is principally an investment holding company whilst its subsidiaries are engaged in the manufacturing and sale of cement and cement related products; and manufacturing, marketing and sale of concrete and concrete related products.
